Cosy Spring Essentials

With hot sunshine one day and a biting breeze the next, I've pulled together a few of my essentials for these indecisive days.
For an autumn lover like myself, I find that keeping a few cosy comforts helps me through the warmer months - along with keeping in touch with the autumn previews (did you catch Primark's autumn homeware sneak peek?!) Here's five of my must-haves for a cosy spring.

Candles & Fairylights
Not just for a gloomy winters day, crack out the twinkling lights and candles on chilly spring eve's too! String lights up in the garden to pair with summery salads - dining al fresco under the lingering sun.
With candles, opt for fresh, floral picks for spring - ideal for making your home feel calm and bright. A lit candle or cluster of fairylights can transform a space, bringing light and comfort whatever the season!
My favourite spingtime candle is Diptyque Baies - a beautiful combination of rose and blackcurrant leaves, both floral and fruity - it's dreamy!

Lighter Fragrances
I've packed away rich, heavier scents in favour for breezy floral picks, with sweet fruity notes and delicate musks. Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream is a divine mix of jasmine, pear, blackberry and blue wisteria, ideal for spring wear. I love the sound of Nina Ricci Luna too - wild berries, orange blossom and a hint of caramel - yum!
Lighter mists and sprays are go-to's for me during the warmer months, a subtle mist of fragrance to freshen/top up when required is ideal - also perfect to combat my fear of attracting wasps with a too-strong perfumed scent! (is that just me?). I adore the Victoria Secret Love Spell mist - with peach, jasmine, cherry blossom and woody notes, it's heavenly!
I've also spotted these new Lush body sprays - the Twilight and Rose Jam spray sound divine!

Spring Layers
Spring right now in the UK is cold. Reach for light layers, jackets even scarves to guard against wind chill. I've been pairing a light knit with jeans and a blush scarf or jacket - there's so many cute picks in stores right now!

Whether it's a bunch of pink peonies, eucalyptus or huge leaves, stores have broadened their range this spring with greenery and foliage galore.
Instead of peonies I've been adding unique finds - flowering cacti, bunches of long flat leaves, twigs that sprout curled leaves and white flowers - anything unusual to add a little character and a homely touch to my shelves. I'm sure I'll grab the chance to pick up a bunch or two of Peonies whilst they're still in season, but I've been enjoying to explore what else spring has to offer too!

A Rainy Day Inside
Whether it's decluttering the home to make it tidy and fresh, rifling through my make up to switch it up for the season or making time to paint on a glossy mani, it's an essential for me to take some me time at home. Despite spending more time outdoors during the warmer months, a cosy day in can be just the ticket - even if it's just re-reading favourite book with a hot chocolate on spring's colder days!
