Summer To Autumn, Transitional Beauty

beauty for the transition into autumn
paco rabanne olympea
The nights are slowly drawing in, there are thick knits appearing in stores, a flurry of umbrellas on the streets and a biting chill in the early morning air - we're heading towards my time time of the year! As such, I've pulled out a selection of products to use for the transition into autumn, I've packed away my summer brights and settled on neutrals, leaning towards hints of berry and bronze for the shifting seasons.

Firstly, I've pulled out a new fragrance, Paco Rabanne Olympea* evokes the first signs of autumn - the amber and wood notes denote the first leaf-fall, there's an uplifting, crisp scent from the ginger and mandarin, reminiscent of brisk autumn mornings. Cashmere and floral jasmine wraps you up in an enveloping warmth, there's a whisper of sea salt too, the last breath from the lingering summer. All the while smooth caramel and dreamy vanilla notes spark excitement for hot chocolates and bonfire treats! Overall it's a clean, warm scent - it's utterly divine!

For skin, I've started the prep early on, aiming for nourished, hydrated skin this autumn/winter.
The addition of The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 has helped in my quest for plump, soft skin. A vegan, results-driven serum that works combined with your day or night cream, I like to pop this on in the mornings before my day cream, for an added hydration boost!
I've also just repurchased the heavenly Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm, a savour for parched lips! With honey, shea butter, calendula and sweet almond oil it leaves lips unbelievably soft. It's ideal for the change of seasons!

Also on my lips, I've been obsessed with the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Rome, a creamy, earthy muted rose it's SO flattering on. This budge-proof, saturated pick pairs well with winged liner and fluttery lashes - the slight mauve/berry tone suits the transition to autumn perfectly. It's my go-to everyday lip product right now!

For highlighter, Topshop Crescent Moon is gorgeous - apt for the transition into autumn. With a pearlescent, rose gold sheen it will carry me through to the colder months too. This is a powder version of my favourite Topshop Glow Highlighter in Polished, the dreamy, peachy/rose gold hue that runs throughout both really perks up the complexion!

I recently picked up the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil In Sparkle Nude, a shimmery champagne bronze with sparse flecks of glitter that's similar to MAC All that Glitters. I adore this shade, the texture too - It's creamy, glides effortlessly over the eye, and blends like a dream! To combat creasing, I like to pop a primer on first. It's also so pretty smudged under the lower lashes, a heavenly hue for in-between the seasons!

Lastly, on my nails I've pulled out Essie Winning Streak*, a gorgeous dusty purple with grey tones, it's a flattering hue for the changing days. I've also pulled out Essie Starry Starry Night* (just £2.50!) to wear, reminiscent of a glittering nights sky I'm planning to paint on my toes for the anticipation for darker, cosier nights by candlelight, this will carry me through for halloween and bonfire night next season too!
